Original Winnie the Pooh and Friends at The NYPL

Have a Winnie the Pooh & friends fan in the house? Bring the adventures of Pooh, Eeyore & gang to life when you visit the Polonsky Exhibition at the main branch of the New York Public Library. You’ll see the original stuffed animals that were given to Christopher Robin Milne by his father, A. A. Milne, & which his classic book series is based.

Additionally, this free exhibit features incredible treasures from the library’s archives, including many that may interest kids and teens.

A few others that caught my eye:

⭐️ Charles Dickens’s writing desk & chair
⭐️ illustrations from the first Wizard of Oz & Mother Goose books
⭐️ a Harriet Tubman comic book
⭐️ mementos from the civil rights movement
⭐️ a lock of Ludwig van Beethoven’s hair (!)
⭐️ Thomas Jefferson’s handwritten copy of the Declaration of Independence

… and much more! It’s worth a visit, and did I mention it’s free? Don’t forget to stop by the gift shop on your way out, which offers a lot of Big Apple-themed books for kids.

Be sure to say hi to Patience and Fortitude, and afterwards, take a turn on the adorable French classical carousel behind the library in Bryant Park.
